Budgeting? Self Catering tips on Menorca

Menorca's Beach Resorts have no hosting towns so are self contained and surrounded by attractive undeveloped countryside and farmlands. The furthest Resort from Airport is 1 hour ( door to door ) so even with youngsters , you have the whole Island to choose from. West coast Resorts tend to be flat and have much smaller beaches. Beaches have soft sand with shallow sandy bottoms that slope gently. There are NO Hotel Resorts ( eg Hotels with extensive grounds with lots all their own shops/facilities on a private site ) .

Family Friendly What is fact is that Menorca is a very child friendly holiday destination and children are safe, welcomed with a smile in Bars and Restaurants all over the Menorca. None of Menorca's resorts has any loud neon bars, or beach side bars with drunken '20 somethings' you have to 'explain away' to the kids or worry if Teenagers wander off. In the beachside Resorts most loud activities that could disturb youngsters sleep have to finish at 11pm by law.

Airport Transfers with young famlies

If a Transfer is not included in your Holiday or you don't fancy the potential long waits for other arriving passengers / multiple hotel drop offs consider a Taxi / private Transfer West coast resorts are often best via a Transfer rather than Taxi due to costs - taxi circa 60-73 Eur one way BUT max. of 4 people. We recommend Shuttle Menorca.

Airport Taxis - you cannot pre-book child seats ( so you will have to bring your own ). By law children MUST have correct seating. Babies / Toddlers are illegal ( police fines ) if sat on a lap!

Airport Buses don't run to any Resorts ( change required at Mahon main bus station )

Tip - despite the apparent many offers online there are only three licensed companies who actually provide the transfer service on Menorca, so ensure you know who you are booking with before paying!
